GIS Consultant - 6 Months - Inside IR35 - London

Job Title: GIS Consulting

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Product Design, Configuration, and Development:

    • Design, configure, and develop GIS applications and services, with a focus on ESRI ArcGIS Enterprise/Online and SAFE FME.
    • Implement product configurations to meet specific project requirements.
  2. Geospatial Product Setup:

    • Understand and execute the configuration and setup of geospatial products, specifically ESRI ArcGIS Enterprise.
    • Apply knowledge of GIS concepts, including Topology, Coordinate Systems, GIS-specific Data types (Raster, Vector), Geocoding, and other relevant principles.
  3. Optimization and Performance Enhancement:

    • Tune and optimize existing GIS applications to improve overall performance.
    • Conduct performance assessments and implement enhancements as needed.
  4. Unit Testing and Quality Assurance:

    • Conduct thorough unit testing of GIS applications to ensure accuracy, reliability, and adherence to project requirements.
    • Collaborate with QA teams to address and resolve reported issues promptly.
  5. Issue Debugging and Resolution:

    • Investigate and resolve issues reported by users and QA teams.
    • Debug code and provide effective solutions to maintain application functionality.

Preferred Skills:

  1. ESRI Products Expertise:

    • A strong background with a minimum of 5+ years of development experience on ESRI products, including Arc GIS Online or Arc GIS Enterprise.
    • Expertise in designing and configuring ESRI-based solutions, covering Basemaps, web mapping services, and/or Locator services.
  2. FME Flow and Configuration:

    • Proficiency in using FME Flow for the configuration of new data flows.
  3. ARC GIS Experience Builder:

    • Experience with ARC GIS Experience Builder for building dynamic and interactive GIS applications.
  4. Accessibility Practices:

    • Experience building GIS applications with a focus on good accessibility practices.
  5. Testing and Optimization:

    • Excellent unit testing skills and a deep understanding of performance tuning and optimization techniques.
  6. Agile Environment Collaboration:

    • Ability to work in an agile environment, collaborating with architects, cross-functional teams, Product Management, and the Customer to deliver high-quality GIS solutions.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.
  • Proven track record of at least 5 years in GIS development, with a focus on ESRI products.
  • Strong understanding of GIS concepts and principles.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
